Arc the Lad R Smartphone RPG Picks Up 10 Years After Arc the Lad II
The original Arc the Lad RPG launched on PSone back in 1995, with the sequel following in 1996. Other games have followed since, but the latest to be revealed is a smartphone entry that specifically picks up 10 years after the events of Arc the Lad II. Now ForwardWorks’ Arc the Lad R is open for pre-registration in Japan, and you can check out the announcement and story trailers below.
Arc the Lad R is set a decade after the “Great Disaster” that rocked the planet and took out over half of humanity. The story this time around follows a member of the vigilante corps, Haruto, with some heroes from the past returning as playable characters. Tactical battles are back in the mix, and characters can evolve and get stronger through the use of the stat-boosting Spirit Board.
Toshiro Tsuchida is in charge of planning, drafting, and game design for Arc the Lad R, with Norihiko Yonesaka on scenario; Eiji Koyama, Ryuichi Kunisue, and Hiroshi Hayashi on art drafting and supervision; and T-Square’s Masahiro Andoh on sound.
